· 7 picks
· 2 steals
· 1 reaches
The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. The cost of the Robinson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Cowing falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 7th pick they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
No edge and no loss on Kris Jenkins in pick No. 44; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board had Caelen Carson higher than slot 77, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Junior Colson in the 112th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A premium they did not need to pay, Layden Robinson a notch or two before his time. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jacob Cowing in pick 190 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Blake Watson at Round 7, Pick 14 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
