You build a draft on nights like this. Devin Neal had no business being available in pick No. 159, and the Vikings did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom. The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

In No. 24 they get a long-term starter on the line, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jalon Walker at slot 97 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Luke Kandra in pick No. 138, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Taking Devin Neal in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They will replay Billy Bowman Jr. at Round 5, Pick 23 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
