There is conviction, and then there is this. The Cowboys took Solomon Byrd a full 36 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Dixon.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
