Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Dolphins, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Van Pran has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
However the rest shakes out, Wilson at that price is a win they earned.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Jordan Morgan went about where he belonged in slot 35. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They did well to land T.J. Tampa in Round 2, Pick 23, just ahead of his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Ruke Orhorhoro at pick No. 59 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Sedrick Van Pran at No. 66 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Marshawn Kneeland in pick 90 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Cedric Gray at the 124th pick squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Johnny Wilson at slot 157 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Dwight McGlothern is a better player than No. 186 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at Round 6, Pick 25 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good price on Sheridan Jones in the Round 7 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
