The Patriots spent real capital to be 93 picks early on Isaac Guerendo, and the board is going to hold them to it.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Clark. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 7 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Adonai Mitchell at pick 34 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tyler Guyton in No. 38 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Spencer Rattler in pick No. 68, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A straight-up fair deal on Khyree Jackson at the 104th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
No edge and no loss on Leonard Taylor III in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had cheaper options than Theo Johnson at the 136th pick, and it noticed. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Isaac Guerendo at slot 182 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, De'Corian Clark at Round 7, Pick 9. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
