The Cardinals spent real capital to be 80 picks early on Kyle McCord, and the board is going to hold them to it.
Getting Campbell where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 17 they get a blindside protector, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Bradyn Swinson in the 49th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board fumbled Jihaad Campbell all the way to the 81st pick, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They jumped the gun on Rylie Mills, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Kyle McCord at No. 152 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
