When the story of this class is written, it opens with Isaiah Davis at No. 190, a reach of 109 spots that the board flatly disagrees with.
Coleman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 12 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Leonard Taylor III in the 44th overall pick, miles early. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Keon Coleman in the 76th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They took Roman Wilson at par in pick No. 112, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Max Melton in Round 5, Pick 13 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Isaiah Davis well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They will replay Ricky Pearsall at Round 7, Pick 13 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
