When the story of this class is written, it opens with Dylan Morris at pick 252, a reach of 154 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
However the rest shakes out, Skattebo at that price is a win they earned. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 13 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Xavier Watts in the 48th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mason Taylor. It fills a real need, too.
Azareye'h Thomas at the 114th overall pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Joshua Gray in pick 133 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They robbed the room for Jack Bech here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
You do not let a safety like Kevin Winston Jr. reach the 154th overall pick and blink. They did not. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Cam Skattebo in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A wild overpay on Garrett Dellinger in pick No. 231, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A real head-scratcher, Dylan Morris in pick 252 is miles ahead of his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
