Grand theft in pick 220: the Patriots steal Harris and grade out a B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Tre Harris had no business being available in No. 220, and the Patriots did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.4 · Pick 4 · Travis Hunter · CB · rank 1
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a press-man option on the boundary. Need was not the driver here.
R2.6 · Pick 38 · Jack Sawyer · DE-EDGE · rank 21
A quiet steal in pick 38: Jack Sawyer for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Wyatt Milum · OT · rank 13
They will replay Wyatt Milum at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Jalen Royals · WR · rank 66
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 77, where Jalen Royals graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.3 · Pick 104 · Jihaad Campbell · LB · rank 38
Jihaad Campbell at No. 104 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R5.6 · Pick 143 · Aireontae Ersery · OT · rank 54
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Aireontae Ersery in slot 143, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.1 · Pick 217 · Dylan Fairchild · OG · rank 55
Somehow Dylan Fairchild was still sitting there in the 217th overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. The roster fit checks out.
R7.4 · Pick 220 · Tre Harris · WR · rank 26
Steal is underselling it; Tre Harris at the 220th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.22 · Pick 238 · Lander Barton · LB · rank 123
A linebacker of that caliber at No. 238 is the definition of value, full stop. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
