The one they had to fix is still broken. The 49ers left wide receiver untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They will need Moore to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it. A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
Emmanuel Pregnon in pick 33 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Derrick Moore well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Justin Joly in the 127th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jakobe Thomas at pick No. 133 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on J.C. Davis in Round 4, Pick 38; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Kaleb Proctor at No. 139 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
