Green Bay Packers

A respectable, level-headed haul for the Packers: B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Packers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They will need Tampa to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.1 · Pick 33 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 37
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jordan Morgan. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 51
They paid a round early for T.J. Tampa in Round 2, Pick 9, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 57
Payton Wilson in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R3.1 · Pick 65 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 61
Kingsley Suamataia at slot 65 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 84
Blake Corum at pick 88 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Cam Hart · CB · rank 100
Cam Hart in pick No. 91 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 136
Jarrian Jones at the 126th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
