Green Bay Packers

Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Packers.

For all the boxes ticked, the Packers skipped the loudest one: quarterback is exactly as bare as it was. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The Davis steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Rosengarten reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Dallas Turner · LB-EDGE · rank 14
Dallas Turner at the 25th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 37
Jordan Morgan at pick No. 41 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Braden Fiske · DL · rank 58
Braden Fiske at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.27 · Pick 90 · Dadrion Taylor-Demerson · S · rank 86
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in pick 90 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 95
Khyree Jackson in No. 91 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.20 · Pick 120 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 135
A premium they did not need to pay, Roger Rosengarten a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 136
They paid sticker price for Jarrian Jones in the 138th pick, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 156
The board had Isaiah Davis higher than slot 169, and the running back fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Curtis Jacobs · LB · rank 198
Good price on Curtis Jacobs in the Round 6 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 213
Nothing to complain about; Nathaniel Watson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Tyler Owens · S · rank 254
Tyler Owens at No. 245 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
