The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Caelen Carson, slot 87, roughly 21 picks past where he belonged. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 24 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
By-the-book stuff, T'Vondre Sweat at the 56th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
A cornerback of that caliber at pick 87 is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Ray Davis at slot 124 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Ben Sinnott at Round 5, Pick 38. A need, and now a little less of one.
De'Corian Clark at the 212th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board had Nathaniel Watson higher than the Round 7 slot, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
