The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bills shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C-.
The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reiger has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Getting Allen where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 26 they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They let CJ Allen come to them and pounced at Round 2, Pick 10. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Mason Reiger in the 126th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Zxavian Harris in the 165th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took Reggie Virgil at par in No. 168, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Travis Burke at pick 182 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A straight-up fair deal on TJ Hall at the Round 7 slot, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
