You build a draft on nights like this. Kyle McCord had no business being available in the 151st overall pick, and the Cardinals did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 16 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Amos at the 47th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A quiet steal in slot 78: Demetrius Knight Jr. for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board had Jaylin Noel higher than pick 113, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Somehow Kyle McCord was still sitting there in No. 151, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
