The Texans did not so much draft Phil Jurkovec as overpay for him, 47 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Tampa. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
