They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

Every board in the league had Spann-Ford lower, and that gap is the story. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Jayden Daniels · QB · rank 8
In slot 6 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.2 · Pick 34 · Xavier Legette · WR · rank 36
No drama and no debate, Xavier Legette went about where he belonged in pick No. 34. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Patrick Paul · OT · rank 47
By-the-book stuff, Patrick Paul at pick 47 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 78
A premium they did not need to pay, Christian Mahogany a notch or two before his time. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.12 · Pick 76 · Sedrick Van Pran · C · rank 89
They liked Sedrick Van Pran enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 3, Pick 12. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.32 · Pick 95 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 105
A conviction pick on Khyree Jackson at No. 95 that the board grades a round light. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R3.35 · Pick 98 · Matt Goncalves · OT · rank 106
Matt Goncalves at the Round 3 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Ray Davis · RB · rank 110
Ray Davis in the 104th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.33 · Pick 133 · Ben Sinnott · TE · rank 145
The board had cheaper options than Ben Sinnott at pick 133, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.36 · Pick 136 · Kitan Oladapo · S · rank 170
Kitan Oladapo at Round 4, Pick 36 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Zion Tupuola-Fetui · DE-EDGE · rank 175
They paid sticker price for Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the 172nd pick, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.7 · Pick 182 · Brevyn Spann-Ford · TE · rank 239
A real head-scratcher, Brevyn Spann-Ford in No. 182 is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.9 · Pick 229 · Kenny Logan Jr. · S · rank 224
Fair-plus on Kenny Logan Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
