The Cardinals treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending slot 78 on Emery Jones Jr. a full 96 spots early. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
On value alone, Everette makes the weekend a net positive. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 16 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Restrepo at pick No. 47 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Emery Jones Jr. at Round 3, Pick 14 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Vernon Broughton well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
Somehow Daylen Everette was still sitting there in No. 151, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
