More right than wrong for the Cowboys, and a B to prove it.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Cowboys took Logan Brown a full 75 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

They will answer for taking edge rusher early while linebacker and quarterback went begging. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.13 · Pick 13 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 12
In pick 13 they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.16 · Pick 48 · Josaiah Stewart · DE-EDGE · rank 48
Josaiah Stewart at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Ollie Gordon II · RB · rank 83
They took Ollie Gordon II at par in the 77th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.37 · Pick 101 · Logan Brown · OT · rank 176
This one needs a full-page explanation: Logan Brown in the 101st pick, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.12 · Pick 113 · Jordan Burch · DE-EDGE · rank 113
They bypassed pressing needs at linebacker and quarterback to take Jordan Burch, an edge rusher that was not the priority.
R5.13 · Pick 151 · Omarr Norman-Lott · DL · rank 154
They paid sticker price for Omarr Norman-Lott in Round 5, Pick 13, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.31 · Pick 169 · Jermari Harris · CB · rank 183
A reach for Jermari Harris in pick No. 169; a little patience would have been rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R5.32 · Pick 170 · Davison Igbinosun · CB · rank 185
Davison Igbinosun at No. 170 is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.34 · Pick 172 · Alfred Collins · DL · rank 222
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Alfred Collins. The roster fit checks out.
R6.13 · Pick 188 · Joey Slackman · DL · rank 244
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Joey Slackman well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Oronde Gadsden II · TE · rank 272
They left a pile of value on the table to take Oronde Gadsden II this early at Round 6, Pick 34. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
