The Trey Zuhn III pick is the one that will follow the Browns into the fall. They took him 55 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Nwokobia pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In slot 24 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end at fair value. A real need, handled.
By-the-book stuff, Chris Bell at the 39th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trey Zuhn III this early at Round 3, Pick 6. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A wild overpay on Isaiah World in pick No. 107, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
Cole Payton at the 146th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Bryce Boettcher at No. 149 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Le'Veon Moss in pick No. 206 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A quiet steal in the Round 7 slot: Isaiah Nwokobia for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
