Thirty-one other rooms let Wyatt Milum slide, and the Texans were the ones holding the card at the 235th overall pick. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
Walter Nolen at Round 1, Pick 19 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Ashton Jeanty in slot 53 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Nick Emmanwori in No. 84, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
The board fumbled Tre Harris all the way to the 120th overall pick, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They barely believed it either: Gunnar Helm still on the board at the Round 5 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steal is underselling it; Wyatt Milum at pick 235 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
