The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Commanders watched Ollie Gordon II slide 80 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
If Dellinger pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A slide stopped in pick 61, with Tre Harris worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A running back of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jack Nelson in pick No. 148 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jack Kiser in slot 207 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Garrett Dellinger in the 238th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Ollie Gordon II at the 250th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
