The board owed the Commanders one, and it paid up: Quincy Riley, the No. 177 name on the board, sitting there at the 238th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Osa Odighizuwa gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Nice patience on Josh Simmons, who had no business lasting to slot 29. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tre Harris is a better player than pick No. 61 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Circle this one: Harold Fannin Jr. at pick 79 is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Logan Brown at the 148th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Ollie Gordon II in Round 6, Pick 29, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
They barely believed it either: Quincy Riley still on the board at the 238th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Akili Arnold at No. 250 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
