Everything else got attention, and cornerback got none. That is a strange way for the Commanders to leave a draft.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Nelson. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 29 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. A clean fit for the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Harold Fannin Jr. at the 61st overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nothing to complain about; Jayden Higgins went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Taking Jack Nelson in pick 148 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Hancock at the 207th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Trevor Etienne at pick No. 238 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Miles Frazier at the Round 7 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
