This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Cam Skattebo, the No. 105 name on the board, stolen at the 207th pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Jackson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
A big swing on Donovan Jackson at the Round 2 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They took Darien Porter at par in No. 79, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They will replay Harold Fannin Jr. at pick 148 for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Cam Skattebo in the 207th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Miles Frazier in Round 7, Pick 22. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Garrett Dellinger this early at slot 250. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
