They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Jacobe Covington, 98 picks early at slot 238. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
However the rest shakes out, Sanker at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 29 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
TreVeyon Henderson in the 61st pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It fills a real need, too.
Jayden Higgins in slot 79 lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Smael Mondon Jr. at No. 148 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Miles Frazier at Round 6, Pick 29 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jacobe Covington at pick No. 238 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board fumbled Jonas Sanker all the way to slot 250, and they scooped it up. A minor need, but a need all the same.
