The one they had to fix is still broken. The Packers left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Verse value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
Jared Verse at the 25th pick is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Edgerrin Cooper in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
DJ James in slot 58 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at No. 88 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A tidy little value on Trey Benson in pick 91, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They took Isaac Guerendo at par in Round 4, Pick 26, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Layden Robinson. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
