The Texans treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 7 slot on DeMonte Capehart a full 27 spots early. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The Simpson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.

Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 27 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Johnny Wilson is a better player than pick 85 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Value with a capital V on Max Melton in the 123rd overall pick, a genuine coup. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They paid sticker price for Tommy Eichenberg in the 127th pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
