The Texans spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Ollie Gordon II, the No. 174 name on the board, in the 241st overall pick. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Malaki Starks in the Round 1 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Alfred Collins in slot 58 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Tate Ratledge at pick 89 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A need, and now a little less of one.
Tez Johnson in No. 126 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Taking Jared Wilson in Round 5, Pick 28 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They will replay Ollie Gordon II at pick No. 241 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
