Somebody in No. 235 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Nicholas Singleton, the No. 100 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

The cost of the Hancock reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.19 · Pick 19 · Mason Graham · DT · rank 6
In the 19th overall pick they get a load in the middle at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.21 · Pick 53 · Tyler Booker · OG · rank 37
A slide stopped in pick 53, with Tyler Booker worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
R3.20 · Pick 84 · Elic Ayomanor · WR · rank 96
A premium they did not need to pay, Elic Ayomanor a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.19 · Pick 120 · Kevin Winston Jr. · S · rank 92
They barely believed it either: Kevin Winston Jr. still on the board at Round 4, Pick 19. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R5.27 · Pick 164 · Jordan Hancock · S · rank 193
Jordan Hancock in No. 164 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R7.19 · Pick 235 · Nicholas Singleton · RB · rank 100
You do not let a running back like Nicholas Singleton reach slot 235 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
