The Tim Smith selection is the head-turner. The Texans reached 29 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.
For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Carson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Pick-by-Pick
In No. 28 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No edge and no loss on Chris Braswell in pick No. 49; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Caelen Carson at the 90th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It adds depth where they could use a little.
