It is the swing that defines the weekend: Joe Milton III in the 141st pick, a good 59 spots before the room expected him. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
Fair-plus on Marvin Harrison Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on Kamari Lassiter in Round 2, Pick 15, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid a round early for Trey Benson in pick 70, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach on McKinnley Jackson in slot 107; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A wild overpay on Joe Milton III in pick No. 141, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
