The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
Reaching for Crumedy left real value on the table behind him. They banked enough surplus on Davis to cover a lot of smaller sins. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Xavier Legette at No. 58 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Max Melton. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A premium they did not need to pay, Christian Mahogany a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Fair-plus on Kamren Kinchens, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They let Isaiah Davis come to them and pounced at Round 5, Pick 30. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A real head-scratcher, Jaden Crumedy in slot 183 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
