Start where it matters. The Vikings took Bo Nix to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Logue has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. On value alone, McKinstry makes the weekend a net positive. The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
The board had cheaper options than Bo Nix at pick 11, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Taking Kool-Aid McKinstry in the 42nd overall pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A conviction pick on Dillon Johnson at No. 109 that the board grades a round light. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, Cole Bishop at slot 130 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Cedric Gray in Round 5, Pick 9. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Ben Sinnott is a better player than the 157th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Austin Booker at pick No. 166 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jordan Jefferson at the Round 6 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
Zion Logue at the 227th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
