The search is over. The Vikings handed the keys to Michael Penix Jr., and the whole operation now runs on his development. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Sinnott pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They will answer for taking S-EDGE early while edge rusher and safety went begging.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 11 they get a long-term answer under center. The biggest hole, addressed.
Xavier Worthy in pick No. 42 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Khyree Jackson in the 109th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A curious use of No. 130. Edge rusher and safety needed the pick; a S-EDGE in Jalyx Hunt did not.
A premium they did not need to pay, Logan Lee a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach for Justin Rogers in slot 157; a little patience would have been rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on LaDarius Henderson. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Ben Sinnott in the 179th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jawhar Jordan in the 227th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
