The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Browns spent their marquee pick on Ty Simpson, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
They will need Farmer to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The Moore pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get the arm they will build around, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Blake Miller in No. 39 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Jalen Farmer at Round 3, Pick 6 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster fit checks out.
Devin Moore in the 107th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Kaytron Allen in pick 146; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Malik Benson at pick No. 149 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value with a capital V on Cole Payton in slot 206, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jack Kelly at the 248th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
