Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Buccaneers spent slot 155 on Nyjalik Kelly, a name most had 49 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Tight end is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 15 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Gabe Jacas at pick No. 46, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Eli Stowers in No. 77 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Taurean York went about where he belonged in the 116th overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Nyjalik Kelly. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Reggie Virgil at the 195th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Tyler Onyedim in Round 7, Pick 13 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
