This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Anthony Hill Jr., the No. 38 name on the board, stolen at slot 65. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Francis Mauigoa in the 3rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Denzel Boston in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Somehow Anthony Hill Jr. was still sitting there in the 65th overall pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Bud Clark in Round 4, Pick 4; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Value with a capital V on Parker Brailsford in pick No. 143, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
DJ Campbell in pick 183 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A tidy bit of business in No. 217, where Toriano Pride Jr. graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
