There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cowboys started one anyway for Kalil Alexander, 69 picks ahead of schedule. The bottom line is a respectable B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Love.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a lead back with juice, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
In the 20th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kyle Louis at the 92nd pick is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Mason Reiger at slot 112 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trey Moore this early at pick 152. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Nothing to complain about; Febechi Nwaiwu went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 180 with a little surplus value in Domani Jackson. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Kalil Alexander at slot 218 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
