The rest of the league will want that one back. M.J. Devonshire tumbling to the Vikings in pick No. 230 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Travis left real value on the table behind him.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a wrecking ball inside. A real need, handled.
In No. 29 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. More want than need.
Zak Zinter at slot 108 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Fair-plus on Johnny Wilson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jordan Travis in pick No. 157 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A slide stopped in the 167th overall pick, with Sione Vaki worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had Dillon Johnson higher than pick 177, and the running back fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
