Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Vikings spent pick No. 232 on Jaylon Hutchings, a name the board had a full 122 spots lower.
The whole projection now runs through J.J. McCarthy; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The Rosemy-Jacksaint value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a passer to set the clock by, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Elijah Jones in the 108th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
