The search is over. The Vikings handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Jefferson lower, and that gap is the story.
However the rest shakes out, Neyor at that price is a win they earned.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Max Melton in the 108th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
James Williams in pick No. 130 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reach on Sincere Haynesworth in slot 148; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jordan Jefferson in the 160th overall pick, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
The board had cheaper options than Jaylan Ford at pick 166, and it noticed. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Isaiah Davis. It fills a real need, too.
Isaiah Neyor at Round 7, Pick 10 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
