Boards are made to be trusted, and the Vikings shredded theirs for Josh Proctor. He came off 25 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Jones falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Edgerrin Cooper at slot 39 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
T'Vondre Sweat at pick 48 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value with a capital V on Michael Hall Jr. in the 96th pick, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A clean, defensible pick in the 109th overall pick with a little surplus value in Zak Zinter. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nothing to complain about; Will Shipley went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jarrian Jones at pick No. 166 is the proof. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
No edge and no loss on Johnny Dixon in the 179th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Value said wait; Josh Proctor in pick 190 says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A slide stopped in No. 211, with Joe Milton III worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
