The rest of the league will want that one back. Domani Jackson tumbling to the Vikings in the 196th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Durant has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 18th pick they get a green-dot type in the middle at a price that makes it sweeter.
A.J. Haulcy in slot 59 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jonah Coleman is a better player than pick No. 82 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nothing to complain about; Logan Jones went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board had cheaper options than Zane Durant at pick 163, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Domani Jackson at Round 6, Pick 15 is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Value with a capital V on Jaren Kanak in the 234th overall pick, a genuine coup. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Andre Fuller at No. 235 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
