Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Vikings, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D+.
Whatever Jayden Daniels becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain. Rice has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels at No. 4 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Kris Jenkins at the 42nd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Chris Braswell in pick No. 58 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They jumped the gun on Brenden Rice, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Zak Zinter in the 89th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
