The phones were a trap the Vikings kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.
The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Rosemy-Jacksaint left real value on the table behind him.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and offensive lineman is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Jayden Daniels in No. 2; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
In the 11th overall pick they get an island corner at fair value.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at pick 133 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The roster fit checks out.
Fair-plus on Renardo Green, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy little value on Zion Tupuola-Fetui in pick No. 179, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They let Miyan Williams come to them and pounced at the 227th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
