After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Cam Ward is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Knight Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The Harris pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
They went early on Tre Harris in No. 37, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They robbed the room for Kaleb Johnson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Darien Porter in Round 3, Pick 9 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Demetrius Knight Jr. at pick No. 106 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They will replay Kevin Winston Jr. at pick 142 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
