You could see the war room lean forward. Will Howard at pick No. 165 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term answer under center. The biggest hole, addressed.
In slot 32 they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kenneth Grant slipping to the Round 2 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Somehow Tyler Warren was still sitting there in pick 34, and they pounced on premier tight end value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Marcus Mbow in Round 3, Pick 1. A need, and now a little less of one.
A quiet steal in No. 67: Tre Harris for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A cornerback of that caliber at the 94th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Barrett Carter at the 96th pick is the proof. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A slide stopped in slot 103, with Denzel Burke worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Dillon Gabriel in the Round 5 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Chase Lundt at No. 181 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.

Antwane Wells Jr. at the 221st overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Trevor Etienne in the 257th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
