The Aeneas Peebles pick is the one that will follow the Cardinals into the fall. They took him 38 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
Landing McCord that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 16 they get a building block for the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A big swing on Aeneas Peebles at pick 47, well ahead of any board in the building. It fills a real need, too.
A reach on Danny Stutsman in Round 3, Pick 14; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Joshua Farmer at the 114th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Kyle McCord in pick No. 153 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
