Washington Commanders

Quarterback settled, Daniels in the fold, and a B for the Commanders.

The search is over. The Commanders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.

The Raym reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The Lassiter pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.10 · Pick 10 · Jayden Daniels · QB · rank 8
In Round 1, Pick 10 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.2 · Pick 34 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 24
Graham Barton slid further than he should have, and No. 34 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 49
Jordan Morgan at the 35th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R2.11 · Pick 43 · Brian Thomas Jr. · WR · rank 52
A conviction pick on Brian Thomas Jr. at the Round 2 slot that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Kamari Lassiter · CB · rank 40
Kamari Lassiter in pick No. 66 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.37 · Pick 100 · Tommy Eichenberg · LB · rank 108
They jumped the gun on Tommy Eichenberg, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R4.2 · Pick 102 · Gabriel Murphy · DL-EDGE · rank 124
They reached a country mile for Gabriel Murphy at slot 102, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
R4.11 · Pick 111 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 126
A reach for Jaden Hicks in the 111th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R5.3 · Pick 139 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 162
A real head-scratcher, Jaylan Ford in the 139th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
R5.12 · Pick 148 · Andrew Raym · C · rank 184
Andrew Raym in pick No. 148 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.5 · Pick 180 · Jo'Quavious Marks · RB · rank 190
The board had cheaper options than Jo'Quavious Marks at No. 180, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.3 · Pick 223 · Brevyn Spann-Ford · TE · rank 205
Steal is underselling it; Brevyn Spann-Ford at slot 223 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
